Information Communication Technology (ICT) is today widely recognized to underpin socio-economic development of communities. Its revolutionary impact affects the way people live, learn and work. The essence of the ICT-driven economic and social transformation is its power to help societies to use knowledge and ideas. Nepal is arguably the country where the adoption and impact of emerging information communication technologies has been least. Realizing this, the Computer Association of Nepal had initiated the International ICT Conference in 2010.
This year, the 6th ICT Conference with a theme "Information Technology for Development in Mobile Application and Mobile security 2015" in Pokhara, attempts to retrospect the role of Information and Communication Technologies in social, economic and political development in Nepalese perspective.
